12 Months Validity

Trial Employment
You can do unlimited "trial work" (Probe-arbeiten) for up to 2 weeks per employer, making it incredibly easy to prove your skills and get hired.

Financial Requirements
Because you don't have a job yet, the German government requires proof that you can support yourself during your job search.
The Blocked Account (Sperrkonto)
You must deposit funds into a German Blocked Account to prove your financial stability. This is your money, and you will receive a monthly payout once in Germany.
If you secure a 20 hr/week part-time job contract before applying for the visa, the Blocked Account requirement can be significantly reduced or completely waived!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know German?
Not necessarily. If you have B2 English, you only need to score 6 points through other factors (experience, age, degree). However, knowing at least A1 German adds 1 point and significantly helps in finding a job.
What happens after 12 months?
If you find a qualified job during your 12 months, you can transition directly into an EU Blue Card or a standard Work Visa without returning to India. If you don't find a job, the card can sometimes be extended by 2 more years under specific conditions.
Can I bring my family immediately?
Generally, family reunification is difficult on the Chancenkarte because you don't have a secure job yet. It is highly recommended that you secure a full-time job first, convert to a Work Visa, and then bring your family.
What if I already have a Job Offer?
If you already have a valid job offer from a German employer, you do not need the Chancenkarte! You should directly apply for the EU Blue Card or Skilled Worker Visa.
